Palin Comparison

Greetings, presidential tribute artist fans. Last night was one for the books. I had the honor of attending Florida’s first Sarah Palin appearance at The Villages, north of Orlando with my friend of over twenty-five years Patsy Gilbert, the nation’s new great Sarah Palin Impersonator!
A group of us drove up after church. In my car rode my wife Kathy and me, Patsy and her husband Dave, who actually resemble Todd Palin. We had a blast as we drove along, Patsy and I on one side of the car, so we could wave at folks as we passed them, many of whom shouted, “Hey Sarah,” and “Go Sarah!”

Where we parked, we were going to have to wait in an extremely long line to catch an eventual shuttle to the event, or walk three to four miles in the blazing Florida sun. Someone suggested that President Bush and Sarah Palin should be able to thumb a ride in a flash, so…out our thumbs went. We got a ride in I think the forth car that passed, actually a pickup truck. Sara and Kathy rode up front, while the President and Todd (Dave) took to the back.

Those nice folks got us right up close, where we dove into the throng of excited folks, waiting to hear their new VP hopeful. We were ushered by security through into the venue, just as someone from the stage announced that Sarah was coming, so many in the crowd thought Patsy indeed was Sarah. She smiled and waved, and just did a great job!

Kathy and I are so proud of her, and are expecting great things from her. As we stood side by side, posing for photo ops, and amazed at the providence of God, that He would choose to put Patsy and Dave (who looks like Todd Palin) together in the same town, in the same church, our kids are best friends.

I mentioned to someone that my own father’s birthday was the same as George W. Bush’s father’s birthday “41” June 12. Patsy looked over at me astonished and said, that’s my dad’s birthday too! As if that were not enough, that is also birthday of the dear woman I call my third mom, Averil Galloway, who actually led my wife to the Lord, many years ago.

That combined with the fact that I am working on a John McCain impersonation, and BINGO! Here comes the future!!!

God is truly amazing in his providence, and we are his admiring onlookers, pointing folks in his direction like one would point out a brilliant rainbow, or a gorgeous sunset. Check out Patsy’s site. I think you’ll love it. SarahPalinImpersonator.com
