From the gun show to the Governor
Dec 9, 2008
I have found that often, if you don’t know the will of the Lord, ask him to show it to you, and then put one foot in front of the other.A friend called me last Saturday from a local gun show, and said, “John, you should get over here, these people are YOUR people.” So the next day, after church, “The President” went, along with my buddy “Sarah Palin.”
Embarrassingly, I’ve never actually joined the NRA, and they offered a discount to the admission to the show if you joined, so, I am now a proud member of the NRA! I told them I had to join, because, as The President, it was embarrassing to have a licence to kill, but no permit! Heh heh.
It was Photolicious! Cameras clicking from every direction. We ran into a long time friend of mine, Gunny, who sells me my “Super Secret Secret Service equipement, and we talked about some future related possibilities. That chance meeting at the gun show, led to him calling me later that day informing me that Mike Huckabee was coming to Orlando the next day on his book signing tour. Well….
It was a fun honor to meet up with Governor Huckabee yesterday in Orlando, at the last stop of his book signing tour, following the release of his new book, “Do The Right Thing.” The book is already number four on the NY Times Bestseller list. Congratulations Governor, on a fantastic success.
I decided to take along my friends Dave and Patsy Gilbert, Kathy and my dear close friends, who amazingly, are perhaps the Nations best working Todd and Sarah Palin performing team. Patsy looks phenomenal as Sarah, and when we show up anywhere together, It becomes a photo phrenzy! (or is that foto phrenzy??) heh heh
It was great seeing my friend Mike again, and I am thankful that he was willing and gracious enough to write the forward to my new book, and I’m very grateful for what he wrote.
As we were there, I happened upon the store manager, who was a bit taken aback by all the attention “The President and Sarah” were getting in the store. I showed her my new book, and before we left, she decided to carry it. Yipee! You can now purcase “My Life as a Bush,” at Barnes and Noble at Colonial Plaza in Orlando, FL.
Today, Barnes and Noble! Tomorrow, The World…or Wal-Mart, whichever is bigger.
