Thoughts on George W. Bush
Jun 12, 2009

As I ponder the Presidency of George W. Bush, I am taken with the character of the man himself. I have heard report after report that, feel as you might about his actions and decisions, there was nothing false about him. In my travels, I have the opportunity to rub shoulders with many who have come into very close contact with the former President, as well as many of his close friends. One thing I hear over and over again, "George W. Bush is the same man all the time." He doesn't change for the camera, and he doesn't lead by opinion. He leads by principle. He is the real deal.

And he loves his country. He truly saw his number one assignment as keeping us safe, and he did that. His convictions flow down from a long line of Bush family traditions...and from the Bible. It has long been a Bush family motto, "Do The Right Thing."

He loves America's people. He could be seen kneeling at the bedside of a wounded warrior, crying and praying with him, or similarly hugging a child at a campaign rally.

He loves the poor. On his many trips to Africa and third world nations, George Bush took on the challenge of the AIDS and HIV pandemic, and did far more than any president in history, to solve this great need. He did much to work toward the eradication of malaria as well. George Bush is a man who loves others.

Even as I make a living based on the fact that I look very much like the forty third President of the United States, and the astonishing reactions I get when I do comedic motivation, I want to say that I am very proud of President Bush. His leadership style is worthy of following. his principles are based in the principles that our founding fathers believed in, and are very sound. Limited government, low taxes, faith, family, freedom.

I want to add my voice to those who heartily say, "Thank you, President Bush, for your very hard work on behalf of the American people."
