Alma was a First!
Sep 15, 2009

Several weeks ago I had two firsts! I was invited to Georgia to perform my very first ticketed event! I have been planning to create a show that I could travel with. A musical, comedic, inspiring and patriotic retelling of the Bush story in such a way that gives glory to God and doesn't insult America or the President, but is a seriously good inspiring time.

I performed my first rendition of that show several weekends ago in a delightful little town called Alma, Georgia. A delightfully cute town with, I believe, two stoplights. I was hosted and sponsored by local merchants, and we just had a wonderful time.

One of the highlights of my visit there happened during my stay at the very nicely appointed Blueberry Plantation Inn. I was about to enjoy dinner before the show, and the fun folks I met at the hotel had a little fun with a church group, telling them that George W. Bush was about to come and dine in the restaurant.

They totally bought into it, and when I came in and began to banter with them, I think they were sold. I even asked them to pray for me, as I was going to speak shortly. They came over and prayed for me, thinking they were actually praying for "Dubya."

It was then that I told them that I wasn't really the President, and the bursted out in laughter, and we had a hoot of a time together. That was the first time anyone had prayed for me, thinking I was the President.

I loved it! Two first in one weekend!
