John Morgan Named Among Top 5 Celebrity Impersonators
Jul 31, 2007
Hollywood, CA - John Morgan, whose mercurial rise to national prominence as one of America's leading President George W. Bush impersonators has been nothing less than head-spinning, has established himself as one of the nation's top five celebrity impersonators by being named the 3rd Runner-Up on the finale of ABC Television's "The Next Best Thing: Who is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator?" The finale aired on Wednesday, July 25, 2007.Morgan comments, "It was surreal, standing there on national TV with two uncanny Elvis impersonators and an amazing Frank Sinatra impressionist. These guys have been doing this their whole adult lives, and to have America vote me among the very best was both humbling and exhilarating."
Throughout the entire competition, talent judges Jeffrey Ross ("Comedy Central Roasts," "The Aristocrats"), Lisa Ann Walter ("The Parent Trap," "Shall We Dance?") and Elon Gold ("Stacked,"‚"Cheaper by the Dozen") heaped praise on Morgan for his uncanny resemblance, playful wit and joyful demeanor. "You're the smarter, better, funnier version of George Bush," Gold told Morgan during the competition.
It was barely three years ago that Morgan, an Orlando, Fla., native, received so many comments that he resembled the 43rd President that he began a second career impersonating the President, eventually leaving the security of his family's appliance business to launch a full-time career in imitation and inspiration. Morgan comments, "It was a dramatic leap of faith for me to do this, so I enjoy inspiring others to pursue their dreams as well. I love representing the President in a lighthearted, but respectful way, helping audiences on both sides of the aisle to remember that there is so much more that unites us as Americans than divides us."
Morgan has appeared before such corporate audiences as IBM, BellSouth, Bank of America and the NY & LA Automotive Shows and has been seen on such broadcast outlets as ABC's "The View," "The Tony Danza Show" and "Fox News." Morgan has also become a favorite with faith-based audiences through appearances at The International Christian Retail Show, The GMA Dove Awards, GMA Music Week and the 2007 Winter Jam Tour where he appeared before 270,000 people in 33 cities. This summer, Morgan has joined the line-up of Sean Hannity's "Freedom Concerts" tour in Atlanta and San Diego. He is represented by Premiere Speakers Bureau.
John Morgan is currently developing a home video product for retail distribution that is slated to release in 2008.
